Hard Rock Cafe Four Winds is excited to have Anna Nalick performing on the Hard Rock Stage on Thursday, July 9 at 10:00pm!
Before Anna’s performance we caught up with her for a quick interview:
What are you looking forward to most at the Hard Rock Cafe Four Winds performance?
Playing new music
What has been your favorite part of this tour?
This year most of the tour has been in the U.S. and we've been flying in and driving a van instead of using a bus so it's the first time I've been mobile enough to really explore. I'm a fan of history and science and all things spooky, so we visit a lot of museums, cemeteries and famously haunted places.
Do you have any advice for anyone wanting to be a singer/song writer?
Don't sign anything without a good lawyer. Educate yourself. Look to your idol's idol's idols for inspiration to really know where you're coming from. Write your own story. Trust your intuition when creating and in business. Be as honest as possible whenever you sit down to write. Be comfortable calling your own bluff. Be comfortable making mistakes. Surround yourself with people who work hard and empower others. Especially if you write your own material, but even if you don't, nothing exists without you. No song unwritten or unsung/unplayed ever made it to radio. You have the control, so respect that and protect it. There's probably a lot more, I don't know, find time to look at it all from a healthy distance and laugh at your tiny ant-sized self. If you have a panic attack, watch Dumb and Dumber or Stepbrothers...that's more like life advice.
Do you have a favorite quote or saying that is always on your mind?
“I must go to dinner, but I wish it was to eat a pickled herring, Swiss cheese, and a chop at Louis’ instead of the French stuff I shall find.” -Grover Cleveland
What do you enjoy doing in your free time?
I write music and other things, draw, bake snobby vegan pastries, study whatever I'm into at the moment...right now it's early psychology...before that it was the history of the codpiece and other bizarre fashion throughout the ages as well as Whitehouse menus of the 1800's, I watch space and science shows like Cosmos, watch Mel Brooks movies, I feed the birds and squirrels in my yard, I make candles, I tend my herb garden and make things from it, I fly around on my broomstick, jk.
